MACEDONIA, OH (JULY 2, 2025) – National Church Residences has broken ground on Divinity Landing, a new 54-unit affordable senior housing community located at 10439 Valley View Road in Macedonia, Ohio. Designed for adults aged 55 and older, Divinity Landing will offer high-quality, income-restricted one-bedroom apartment homes in a suburban community situated between Akron and Cleveland.

The development marks another milestone in National Church Residences’ ongoing investment in Northeast Ohio, where the organization currently owns and/or operates 17 senior housing communities and health care facilities.

“Divinity Landing reflects our deep commitment to expanding access to affordable, supportive housing for seniors,” said Amy Rosenthal, Vice President of Affordable Housing Development at National Church Residences. “This location, with its proximity to services, shopping, and major roadways, is ideal for fostering independence and quality of life for older adults.”

The new three-story building will feature a mix of affordably priced units along with amenities including a community room, exercise space, a flex office, laundry facilities, and a multi-purpose room. The site includes 81 parking spaces and offers convenient access to State Route 8, State Route 82, and I-271. Residents will also benefit from nearby services including restaurants, grocery stores, and pharmacies, all within three miles of the property.

Divinity Landing was awarded 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) from the Ohio Housing Finance Agency in May 2024. Additional funding partners include Huntington National Bank, National Equity Fund, and Cinnaire Lending. Construction began in early June 2025 and is expected to be completed by August 2026, with qualified occupancy anticipated by the end of that year.

Berardi + Partners serves as the project architect, continuing a longstanding partnership with National Church Residences, while John G. Johnson Construction is the general contractor, bringing deep experience in LIHTC developments throughout Northeast Ohio.

When completed, Divinity Landing will further advance National Church Residences’ mission to serve 100,000 older adults by 2030 with dignity and care through affordable housing solutions tailored to the needs of local communities.
